About Ramayan Trail Yatra
Retrace Lord Ram's journey in the same order the Ramayana unfolds. It begins where his story begins — Ayodhya, his Janmabhoomi on the Saryu, now home to the Ram Mandir consecrated in January 2024. It moves to Chitrakoot, where Ram, Sita and Lakshman spent the early, peaceful years of their fourteen-year exile and where Bharat came to plead for Ram's return. It reaches Panchavati in Nashik — the forest where Lakshman cut off Surpanakha's nose at Sita Gufa and where Ravana abducted Sita, the turning point of the epic. It culminates at Rameshwaram on the far southern tip, where Ram worshipped Shiva (the eleventh Jyotirlinga) and launched the Setu bridge to Lanka. An optional extension to Sri Lanka covers Ravana's kingdom — the Ashok Vatika and the Sita Amman temple. Walking the sites in narrative sequence turns a tour into a living retelling of the Ramayana — the ultimate Rama bhakti pilgrimage, about 10 days across 6-8 states.
